Five women were allegedly sexually assaulted by “Scrubs” producer Eric Weinberg, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Tuesday saw Producer Eric Weinberg’s arrest; he was later freed on a $5 million bail. The district attorney’s office reports that he was arrested just over a week after being charged with 18 felonies, including rape, oral copulation, forcible sexual penetration, sexual battery by restraint, false imprisonment by use of violence, assault by means of force likely to cause great bodily injury, and attempted forcible penetration with a foreign object.
According to a statement made by the district attorney’s office, “the defendant relied on his Hollywood credentials to recruit young women for picture assignments where he allegedly sexually assaulted them.”

In spite of the fact that Producer Eric Weinberg was charged with crimes allegedly committed between 2014 and 2019, detectives think there may be additional victims of assaults from the 1990s, Gascón stated at a news conference.
The press release claims that Weinberg contacted two ladies on separate occasions in 2014 and introduced himself as a photographer. Both times, the women allegedly suffered sexual assault when they returned to his homes.
Weinberg allegedly invited a woman back to his house in 2017 using an “identical pretext” and then raped her there. According to the press statement, he was also charged with sexually assaulting two additional women in 2018 and 2019.
On October 25, Weinberg is anticipated to be charged.
Investigators are looking into the information of potential more assaults by Weinberg, according to LAPD Detective Ryan Lamar.
Police had previously looked into Weinberg on multiple occasions, but the DA’s office decided not to press charges due to a lack of evidence, according to Gascón.
In 2014, Weinberg was detained after a lady claimed that Weinberg had abused her while they were taking pictures. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Weinberg took off her clothes after reportedly sexually assaulting the woman who had only agreed to participate in the shoot under the condition that she wore clothes. According to a police report, he reportedly allegedly “began choking” the victim and “took photos.”
She told the newspaper, “Even after I had repeatedly stated no, he kept doing what he wanted. “I had no idea that he was also capable of using violence. I believed there was a chance I may actually pass away there.”
It’s not apparent if the woman is one of the complainants in the latest lawsuit.
